FAQ
General Commission Questions:
HOW DO YOU BASE YOUR PRICES?
I base my prices by estimating how long it will take me to finish a drawing. I go by the 'per hour' rate, and right now my rate is at $35 per hour. (about the average for an illustrator) I tend to always go a little over the time though, mainly cause I have a policy where if I don't like it yet, its not done haha.
WHAT DO YOU USE TO MAKE YOUR COMMISSIONS?
I use Paint Tool Sai for sketching, lining and color. Then I use Photoshop for textures, rendering and color correction. Clip Studio Paint and After Effects are used for animation.
WHAT IS YOUR USUAL TURN AROUND TIME?
This varies depending on your position in my queue, how busy I am, and the type of commission you ordered, but on average, it can be as fast as the day you ordered to a few months.
CAN I ASSIGN A DEADLINE TO MY COMMISSION?
Right now I only allow commercial work to have deadlines, but if you really need to get a drawing done before a certain date, I can add a rushing fee so I can prioritize your commission and get it done earlier on the queue. The fee's cost will depend on the type of work you want to order from me. (This is only for works that need to be completed within a few weeks or less, drawings that can be completed within a month or more are free)
CAN I SPLIT THE COMMISSION COST WITH MY FRIEND?
Yes of course! As long as I receive the full sum, it is totally fine.
I CLAIMED A COMMISSION SPOT BUT I DON'T HAVE THE MONEY RIGHT NOW, CAN YOU HOLD MY SPOT UNTIL I DO?
I can hold your commission slot for about a week if there are delays in payment, but if you do not have the money after that time limit has passed, I will have to give up your spot and move on unfortunately. I also have payment plans that we can work with too if you need time to recoup.
However, if my queue is long enough that I can afford to wait for a long delay in payment (such as next month or so) then I can allow it. Just keep me updated on your situation!
CAN I CLAIM MORE THAN ONE COMMISSION SPOT PER ROUND?
To give everyone a fair chance, I try to limit one commission request per person per round. However, if there seems to be spots left that no one is taking after a while, then I can allow it!
I SEE THAT YOUR COMMISSIONS AREN'T OPEN YET, BUT CAN I GET ON A WAITLIST IN THE MEANTIME?
Since I get a high volume of commission requests, I unfortunately can't allow people on a waitlist unless its for special circumstances (such as freelance job offers or commission ideas that are very appealing to me) or if I have to split a long queue. Otherwise, if I allowed anyone who asked, my waitlist would be way too long for me to handle and it could take years to get to your spot. So your best chance is just to keep close tabs on my commission openings and act fast!
I KEEP MISSING YOUR COMMISSION OPENINGS. IS THERE ANY WAY I CAN SNEAK ONTO YOUR COMMISSION QUEUE?
There actually is! If you pitch a drawing idea that really appeals to me, then I don't mind taking it out of the blue. Such ideas are usually:
1. Commissions that include my characters in them.
2. Fanart commissions that so happen to have a favorite character of mine. (this is pretty chance-y though)
You can also bribe me too haha.
HOW CAN ENSURE THAT MY COMMISSION WILL BE TOP QUALITY™?
While I can't ensure that everything I draw will turn out a masterpiece, I don't send you anything until I know for sure that I'm satisfied with the commission and will work with you to make sure that you're satisfied with it too, every step of the way. But based on the trends of my work, commissions do tend to come out looking better if I have more artistic freedom and the client isn't too overbearing/nitpicky (not saying that doing this will decrease the quality of work of course).

Concerning Unique Requests:
I HAVE AN IMAGE IN MIND BUT I'M NOT SURE IF YOU'LL FEEL COMFORTABLE WITH IT.
Thats fine! Just let me know what it is and I'll see what I can do. I'm very open minded so I won't judge. I'm also receptive to bribes, so if you come up to me with a good offer, I may just take whatever you suggest haha. However there are things that I absolutely will not do, which are listed under the "Dos and Don'ts" tab.
DO YOU DO ADULT CONTENT/NSFW (NOT SAFE FOR WORK) COMMISSIONS?
To an extent! I can accept tasteful nudity or mild, suggestive scenarios such as pinups, but nothing more risque than that (Go to the NSFW secret page for more specifics). However, NSFW commissions (that contain nudity) will have an additional fee of +$40 attached to them. This is to prevent them from potentially becoming the bulk of my commission requests and overtaking regular, SFW commission requests. You know how people are. ;P
NSFW commissions will also be posted on alternate accounts with a different alias so that it won't be associated with my SFW art.
I DON'T SEE AN PRICE FOR ICONS/REFERENCE SHEETS. HOW MUCH ARE THOSE?
I don't really have a price for icons, but many people will often take a headshot commission and crop it. So for now they cost the same as headshots. I cannot do pixel icons however, since I don't consider myself very proficient in that art to take commissions of that.
As for reference sheets, I stopped doing them after I realized how time consuming they were. But I could be open to it again depending on your character design. But keep in mind that each drawing/pose on the sheet will be charged, as well as the design of the sheet itself.
CAN YOU DRAW COPYRIGHTED/CANON CHARACTERS FROM TV SHOWS/GAMES/MOVIES/ECT?
Sure, as long as the finished piece isnt made into a profit venue (like selling prints of it) then I am totally okay with it! To further avoid this, I try to encourage commissioners to come up with ideas for the characters that wont look like generic fanart.
WHY IS COMMERCIAL WORK PRICED HIGHER THAN YOUR REGULAR PRICES?
Keep in mind that I'm not only selling you the image, but I'm also selling the rights of the image to you, so you can mass produce and make as much money and profit as you want from it. However, if you are from a small/indie development team or company with a lower budget, we could probably negotiate a more affordable price for you.
CAN YOU DO COMICS?
I can, but keep in mind that you'll be charged per panel/scene, which can get pretty pricey. So only short comics are recommended.
CAN I HAVE ONE OF YOUR CHARACTERS IN MY COMMISSION?
I love drawing my own characters whenever I can so I can't say no to that haha! I've had a few people request this from me and usually I discount it by half of what the original price would be for an extra character for that commission. There are some situations I do not allow my characters to be in however, so just let me know what you have in mind and I'll see if I approve!
DO YOU DO LOGOS/UI WORK?
Technically I can, but it really isn't my field of expertise and I would really recommend hiring a professional graphic designer instead. (I am an illustrator who works with raster images, not a designer that works with vectors) However, I am up to doing mascot work or small graphics if you need them!
DO YOU DO BUNDLES? (MEANING IF I BUY MORE THAN ONE THING, I CAN GET A DISCOUNT ON THE WHOLE PACKAGE)
When it comes to individual custom art, I can't afford to do that. I can only do bundles on things that I sell in my store.
